RCSI Bahrains new Student Council and Student Services teamed up to bring the staff and students an event worth remembering. More than 20kgs of chocolate delights ranging from truffle towers, chocolate mousse, fondue and hot chocolates were set up in the atrium of the universitys 1st floor. More than 250 staff and students joined together on Thursday the 28th, for an afternoon of fun accompanied by a local jazz group. It was a great opportunity for the new 2001-2012 Student Council to introduce themselves and a welcomed break for many of the students who are studying hard for their exams.

Student leadership development involves students in meaningful ways both in and beyond the classroom. It is providing opportunities for students to demonstrate their talents, skills, and interests while continuing to develop new skills. It is also about giving students more ownership of the programs they attend. The RCSI Bahrain student council serves to engage students other than on academic matters. The council works in partnership with the management for the benefit of RCSI Bahrain and its students.

There are many more events planned for this councils term, which include both social and community based projects. With over 20 active clubs and societies registered at the university, there is something for everyone. The Chocolate Escape event was the first of its kind and it was a dream come true for all the chocolate lovers at RCSI Bahrain! There was a mouthwatering assortment of tantalizing chocolate desserts as well as delectable sandwiches. The event perfectly ended with servings of rich creamy chocolate fondues. Dipping your favorite fruit, pretzels, marshmallows, cookies or brownies into the chocolate fondue is not only divine - its entertaining! said Ms Sana Shaikh, Student Treasurer 2011-2012.
