The candidates sitting the examination were from Bahrain and other GCC countries and as far afield as Singapore. The campus is one of the official exam centres for the MRCSI, with 25 years of experience. Those who received the Memberships of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland will be able to progress to the next stage of training- Specialist Training. The new fellows have attained membership to an institution with a proud history which for almost two hundred and thirty years has succeeded, often in adversity, in providing the highest standards of training and practice of surgery in Ireland- it has established qualifications and standards that are recognised internationally.
In the presence of dignitaries and medical professionals, the graduates were presented with their awards by Professor Kevin OMalley, Founding President RCSI Bahrain. Addressing the newly conferred RCSI Members he said, It is generally viewed that the College must continue to grow to fulfil its mission in education, research and service. Growth is implicit in the word Building. This has created opportunities for RCSI to establish strategic alliances and developments within Bahrain and in the Gulf region as a whole. RCSI Bahrain is testament to this strategy and is source of great pride to our College. We have made a major investment here and are committed to growing and developing our campus.
