Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Excellency Hideki Ito, and Senior Advisor to SBI ALAPharma and President of SBI Pharma MENA - Bahrain office - Professor Riyadh Rehani, visited the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI Bahrain) campus in Busaiteen to meet with senior officials, including RCSI Bahrain President, Professor Sameer Otoom.
The delegation was shown a presentation on the Universitys Research Strategy in addition to its links with SBI Pharma. A long-time collaborator with RCSI Bahrain, SBI Pharma is a branch of SBI ALAPharma which is a subsidiary of Tokyo-based SBI Holdings Inc. engaging in research and development of pharmaceuticals, health foods and cosmetics using 5-ALA and operating out of Bahrain.
An overview of the Universitys international collaborations was also presented to the special guests, including with Kochi University in Japan and in the field of clinical research and education.
The delegation received an extensive tour of the campus facilities during their visit.
