The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI Bahrain) this week hosted a series of events on the occasion of Bahrain National Sports Day.
Alongside exercise classes in Taekwondo, CrossFit, core training and strength training at the Universitys dedicated sports and recreation facility, The HUB, staff also gathered for a special walk around the campus grounds.
That was followed by RCSI Bahrains mens basketball teams clash with Applied Sciences University (ASU) in the latest round of the National University Championships.
Bahrain Sports Day is organised under the directives of High Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, the Prime Minister, and with the support of His Majesty the Kings Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, with the aim of promoting sport and health-enhancing physical activities.
The events at RCSI Bahrain followed on from the Universitys recently concluded annual Health Week, which aims to promote healthy lifestyle among staff and students and falls in line with the organisations overall objective of advancing human health in Bahrain.
